Phat Phish  was established as an independent film production company in 1997 by Anand Surapur. Over the years, Phat Phish, has additionally achieved a distinct position for itself in advertising by producing over 300 commercials for various national and multinational clients (such as,  Bajaj Auto, Pepsi, Sprite, Ford, Finolex, Dominos,  Britannia, Surf Excel, Hyundai and many others)

To its credit , Phat Phish has won national and international awards for path-breaking brand promotional campaigns. Phat Phish enjoys a strong and stable working relationship with leading agencies within India.


A native of Hyderabad, Anand Surapur completed his Diploma in Film Direction from the University of New York. He then joined Channel [V] - Mumbai in 1993 as director of on-air promos. He was involved in creating and directing groundbreaking television promos for the channel. He has established himself as a director of repute across the fraternity and is highly-valued for his creative gusto.

Anand has directed over 300 Ad Films for established brands like Bajaj Auto, Pepsi, Sprite, Ford, Finolex, Dominos, Britannia, Surf Excel, Hyundai etc. Some of his Music Video endeavors include “Saamne yeh kaun aaya”, “Kya surat hai”, “Noori”, “Bulla ki Jaana”.

In 2003, he launched the music record label Phat Phish Records and proceeded to sign and promote Rabbi Shergill, an artist who then gained recognition with a path-breaking song [and music video] “Bulla ki Jaana” which soared to the No. 1 position across the nation’s music charts and held this position for 16 consecutive weeks.

Anand is currently engaged in a feature film production for Phat Phish Motion Picture’s. Titled “The Fakir of Venice”, this feature is a black-comedy drama in English and Hindi and is based on a true story.



Arjun Bagga possesses film-related experience spanning both Indian and Hollywood ventures. He has worked for some of the top producers and directors in the Bollywood industry and is currently working with Anand on "The Fakir of Venice".

Arjun has also teamed up once again with the director of “Black Friday”, as an executive producer on the much-anticipated feature titled “Gulaal” scheduled for release in early 2007.

In 2004, Arjun served as production manager for the Hollywood production, "One Night with the King"  directed by Michael Sajbel starring Omar Sheriff and Peter O'Toole.

Arjun’s repertoire includes line-producing the 2004 Locarno Film Festival’s Leopard Award winning “Black Friday” based on the March 1993 Bombay bomb-blasts. This film further went on to win the Special Jury Award for best Feature Film at the Los Angeles Indian Film Festival in 2005.


Arjun earlier served as production manager of the Primetime hit show, “Kaun Banega Crorepati” (the Indian version of “Who Wants to be a Millionaire”) starring Amitabh Bachchan for over 300 episodes in 2001-02.
